Find dogs as rescuers – Missing dogs are stuck in game gates for five days

Date:

The basset hounds “Bert” and “Fred” that escaped from Baierberg near Guttaring (Carinthia) appeared to have been swallowed by the earth since January 14. The K9 search dogs “Vita” and “Campino” led the animal searchers on the right track.

The K9-Pro animal search dogs are simply unstoppable. In 2023 alone, 95 percent of the 128 animal searches were completed successfully. The new year had barely started when there was another dog daycare. The search dogs “Campino” and “Vita” have located two missing bassets at 1,300 meters above sea level.

No chance without sniffer dogs
The two male dogs from Baierberg near Guttaring, missing since January 14, slipped through a hole in the 100-hectare game enclosure and could not find their way out. “Without the sniffer dogs, no one would have looked there. The animals would have starved,” says Alexandra Grunow.

The Bracco Italiano bitch “Vita” had taken the right path, after which Freisucher “Campino”, a Spinone Italiano, was used. He led the people to the game gate and did not want to leave. Approval was obtained from the owner of the game fence and the dog owner was able to cuddle his two dogs again.

The bassets, who had a lot of outdoor experience, had made themselves comfortable in a bush, but without food things would have looked bad. The human animal hunters Uli, Karin and Gabi once again showed top performances as they once again had to make their way through impassable terrain, as the game gate is four kilometers away from the place where they escape and live.

And don’t worry, nothing happened to the animals in the wildlife enclosure. Bassets like to follow numbers.
