Serious accident with a Fiaker on Saturday in the Vienna Landstraße: a car wanted to overtake the carriage, but the vehicle may have hit it. The 35-year-old Fiaker driver dropped out of the team and suffered serious injuries.

The accident happened in the morning, just before 10 a.m. The driver wanted to overtake the carriage, which was driving without passengers towards the city, at Beatrixgasse. However, the two companions came into contact with each other. Exactly how this happened is under investigation.

Other people were not injured, but the two horses were. Ursula Chytracek of the involved company Fiaker stressed to the APA that the animals had only superficial abrasions. These were treated by a vet with wound ointment.
