Thousands of euros flew through the air on Gailtal-Straße in Obervellach on Saturday. They had fallen out of a woman’s flatbed truck earlier. But someone else picked up the notes. A witness now gives the police an advantage!
A 29-year-old driver lost a total of 3,500 euros while driving a low loader in Obervellach near Hermagor – we reported.
Woman collected money
Witnesses saw a woman stop and collect the money. On Sunday, another witness contacted the police based on the newspaper report. “The man from Hermagor stopped and helped a man collect the money. According to the witness, the unknown person pretended to be the owner,” says police officer Lukas Wallner.
Received 50 euros as a thank you
As a thank you for his help, the witness received 50 euros. The helper immediately handed this over to the police and immediately provided a warm lead. “The man from the Hermagor district was able to describe the unknown person very well,” Wallner continued.
Description of perpetrator
The perpetrator drove a black Ford Mondeo station wagon with a Hermagor license plate. “He is between 25 and 35 years old, of southern origin, but speaks German very well and even a dialect.” The police are asking for further information.
