A series of serious skiing accidents took place in Tyrol this weekend, including in the Zillertal, where two holidaymakers collided on the slopes. The German (49) and the 17-year-old Dutch woman suffered significant injuries.
The devastating collision took place shortly after 1 p.m. in the Hochzillertal ski area in the municipality of Kaltenbach. On the so-called On the ‘Wedelexpress descent’ at 2,150 meters above sea level, the 49-year-old German and the 17-year-old teenager from the Netherlands fell together at full force.

“Both skiers fell and were injured,” police said. The German suffered an injury to his lower leg and had to be flown to Hall Hospital in an emergency helicopter after receiving first aid at the scene.
The 17-year-old, who had suffered a thigh injury, was taken to the valley by the snow rescue team and taken by ambulance to a doctor.
