A German teenager rammed Peter Fuschlberger on a ski slope in Salzburg. Witnesses watched. And yet the accident becomes a dispute – with a completely uncertain outcome…
Peter Fuschlberger cannot remember the accident. “I stopped moving and was unconscious after the collision,” says the Flachgau resident. Yet the course of the accident seems clear: two witnesses and Fuschlberger’s wife can describe what exactly happened. And yet the retiree has been waiting for compensation since that fateful January 28, 2022. “So far I haven’t received a cent,” Fuschlberger says frustrated.
Fractures, whiplash, bruises
What exactly happened? The Thalgauer was on a slope in Dorfgastein on his last day of skiing. “Suddenly a young man from Germany ran from a divergent path across the track and caught my husband,” says Christine Fuschlberger.
Her husband suffered a spiral fracture of the fibula and tibia, a concussion with whiplash and facial bruising. Two operations were needed and the man from Salzburg is still in pain. “I was so sporty, I must have gained ten kilos since the accident,” sighs the pensioner.
The matter is before the court
The young people’s family denied any responsibility for the accident and blamed Fuschlberger for the fatal collision. Since then, your insurance company has denied any benefits. The case is now also pending in court. “The legal costs alone amount to 20,000 euros,” fuschlberger groans.
