A man (37) was stabbed with a sharp object by a taxi driver in the presence of his ten-year-old daughter on Tuesday evening in Vienna-Brigittenau. The victim was taken to hospital, the suspect is on the run. The police are looking for the driver.
The father was walking with his daughter and her dog when a sudden disagreement arose between the 37-year-old and the taxi driver on the street. Researchers don’t yet know why.
Taxi driver fled with vehicle
A scuffle then broke out between the men, during which the father suddenly felt a stabbing pain in his back. According to the Vienna police, the unknown man stabbed the victim in the back with a sharp object. The taxi driver then fled in his car.
No danger to life after attack
The injured person had to be given first aid by the emergency services of the Vienna Professional Rescue Service and taken to a hospital. “There is no danger to life,” police said on Wednesday. The suspect is now being sought.
