A serious traffic accident involving three vehicles took place in Montafon (Vorarlberg) on Friday evening. And all because a 22-year-old speedster was in a hurry.
The 22-year-old was driving into the valley on Montafoner Straße (L188) shortly after 8 p.m. when he was slowed down in the area of St. Anton im Montafon by a woman driving in front of him.
Instead of exercising patience, he attempted a daring overtake in a confusing place. Just then, a car with a 73-year-old man behind the wheel approached him fatally – an accident could no longer be prevented.
The car skidded
During the collision, the 22-year-old’s car skidded and eventually came to a stop in the middle of the road. Another driver who was driving out of the valley, also 22 years old, was unable to avoid the car and collided with the car that caused the accident.
All three people involved in the accident ended up in Feldkirch LKH with unspecified injuries. The L188 had to be completely closed for over an hour.
