Police intervene – puppy had to live on sloping canopy

Date:

Small animal drama in Traun in Upper Austria. A puppy had to live on an awning for days, neighbors informed the animal rescue service, who collected the animal together with the police.

The ladybug is only eight weeks old, but has been through a lot. According to neighbors, the animal has been waiting for days on a sloping canopy for most of the day, howling. 3.5 meters above the ground. No chance for the small dog to come back to the balcony that is just next to the canopy.

police intervene
The drama came to an end on Saturday. Animal shelters in Upper Austria received a video of the puppy and immediately called the police. A patrol drove to the house and tried to contact the dog owner with animal control.

“That turned out to be very difficult. On the one hand there were language barriers, on the other hand the owner could only be reached by phone,” says Willy Schnebel of the animal shelter. There was a woman in the house who said she did not own the dog. In addition, she was clearly completely overwhelmed by the care of the animal.

Difficult communication
The police then communicated with the people via Google translate and were able to convince them to hand over the small and terrified dog to animal protection.

“The young dog girl is not microchipped, there is also no vaccination card or other papers,” says Schnebel. It is therefore believed that the animal was illegally smuggled into Austria.

“We are now going to show her the beautiful sides of dog life and give her a warm, cozy basket,” Schnebel promises. And she already has a name. “We called her ‘Tussie’,” he laughs. You don’t want to give up the little fur nose for a while. So inquiries are pointless.
