Accident in Innsbruck – tram collides with car: woman (35) injured

Spectacular traffic accident early Sunday evening in Innsbruck: A tram collided with a stationary car, after which it was pushed into another car. A 35-year-old passenger from the first vehicle was injured.

The accident happened shortly before 6 p.m. A tram driver was on a Line 2 train Höttinger Au was on his way to the city center when he found himself in the intersection on Layrstrasse may have overlooked the fact that the cars in front of him had stopped because of traffic.

Crash despite emergency braking
“Despite full or emergency braking, the tram crashed into the car of a 25-year-old Kosovar woman. As a result of the impact, this car was then pushed onto the car of a 39-year-old Austrian who was driving directly in front of it,” the police reported.

A companion (35) of the 25-year-old woman suffered minor facial injuries in the accident. Material damage occurred to the vehicles involved.
