The audiovisual industry generates an impact of 58 million euros and exceeds 1,000 days of filming in Bizkaia

In 2023, 151 productions were filmed in the territory of Biscay, including 12 feature films, 7 series, 33 short films, 21 documentaries, 31 television programs, 8 video clips, 2 web series, 33 commercials and 4 photo sessions.

The direct economic impact generated by audiovisual projects supported by Bilbao Bizkaia Film Commission It amounts to 58.5 million euros, a figure that has quadrupled compared to the 2021 figure (13.8 million euros). As for the induced economic impact, it amounted to 139.6 million euros in 2023, six times higher than in 2021.

The 2023 Activity Balance Sheet of the Bilbao Bizkaia Film Commission was presented today at the Ensanche Building by the Councilor for Economic Development, Trade, Tourism and Employment of the Bilbao City Council, Xabier Ochandianoand the regional deputy of the Economic Promotion Area, Ainara Basurko.
