The marriage of the construction worker and his wife had been in ruins for a long time. There were always arguments. She wanted a divorce, he didn’t. The woman was supported in her request by her mother. When the situation between the couple escalated again at the end of September and the women threatened to press charges, the construction worker sent his mother-in-law some racy photos of his estranged wife via a fake profile.

In the text message, he urges the retiree not to take any further legal action against him. Otherwise he will send the nude photos to 50 people in Vorarlberg. During the hearing at the Feldkirch Regional Court on Tuesday, the man pleaded guilty. “I just wanted them to calm down,” he justifies himself. Prosecutor Claudia Gerstgrasser condemned the act as tasteless, adding: “No mother wants to see her child like that.”
When questioned on the witness stand, the estranged woman stated that she was still troubled by the incident. “I’m still afraid the photos will be published.” Judge Alexander Wehinger sentenced the Serb to a partial fine of 640 euros. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
