Ten months in prison – “can’t tolerate drink”: dog chases officers

Date:

A 39-year-old was now on trial in St. Pölten for resisting state power. He had rioted in his apartment under the influence of alcohol and unleashed his German Shepherd on the alarmed police officers.

When a Belgian shepherd dog suddenly comes running, even experienced officers get scared. This is what happened last November in Mauerbach (Lower Austria). Because a 39-year-old had been ‘partying too much’, he started vandalizing his own apartment with a fuel level of two per thousand. Even when the director came in, the Viennese native would not curb his potential for aggression.

“Probably can’t tolerate booze”
Moreover, he passed it on to his dog. Because instead of showing understanding, the man unleashed his shepherd on the officers. “I don’t think I could tolerate the drink,” the defendant tries to answer during the trial at the St. Pölten Regional Court for resisting state power.

The four-legged friend jumped on a police officer several times. Only the use of pepper spray could clarify the situation. Ten months suspended prison sentence – not legally binding.
