In Rauris im Pinzgau, water rescuers and firefighters searched the Rauriser Ache for a suspected passenger after a vehicle overturned on Rauriser Landesstraße, injuring the 23-year-old alcohol driver. The drunk could not remember if anyone was in the passenger seat when the accident happened.
The driver was able to free himself from the badly damaged vehicle, the Salzburg police said in a press release. However, she was unable to answer the approaching rescuers if there was anyone else in the car.
The supposed passenger was nearby
Because the accident happened not far from the Rauriser Ache and it was feared that a passenger might have been thrown into the water, the water rescue service and the fire brigade searched the river. However, without success: the alleged passenger, with whom the young woman had celebrated that evening, was eventually found in a bar in the area of Rauris. He hadn’t even gotten into her car.
An alcohol test on the crash driver showed a value of 1.68 per mille. You will be reported to the district administration of Zell am See.
