Housewife convicted – Donations from Ukraine must go into her own pocket

Date:

She promised to help women and children in the war zone provide a proper burial for the deceased. The 900,000 euros must end up in the account of the now accused 35-year-old. “An absolutely shameless crime,” the prosecutor said. The mother of four children faced a prison sentence of ten years.

100,000 euros to remove women and children from the Ukrainian war zones. 500,000 euros for dignified funerals in Ukraine. 300,000 euros to renovate her house and make her son disabled. A 35-year-old launched three appeals for donations last March. However, without the charity in the foreground: “She benefited from the willingness of potential donors to help.”

Donations collected for basement renovations instead of for war victims
Because she wanted to put the money she collected in her own pocket. The mother of four planned to buy a single-family home in Lower Austria, even though money was already tight. She wanted to expand the cellar with the donations: “All my money was stolen from me by internet fraudsters on an online credit platform. I really believed that I would get the amount if I paid the advance. The only thing that matters to me is that I get the 60,000 euros for the basement renovation.”

She had not expected the utopian amount of 900,000 euros anyway. “I never expected that I would receive such a large amount,” the housewife admitted to the judge in Vienna. In her verdict she says: “It is enough that you seriously believed it was possible.” – 18 months suspended prison sentence for attempted serious fraud.

The Public Prosecution Service has not yet made any statements about this “absolutely shameless crime”, as the prosecutor describes it. At the end of her trial, the Viennese promised: “My goal is to be there for my children and not to commit any more crimes.”
