A 60-year-old and his family probably owe their lives to his light sleep. Around 3:20 am the man became aware of a fire on the facade and woke up his wife and two daughters. The family of four was able to escape in time and the fire brigade took over the fire.
For reasons yet unknown, a facade fire broke out in a residential building in Perg, Upper Austria, around 3:20 am on Friday. The 60-year-old homeowner noticed the fire and was able to wake his 53-year-old wife and his two daughters, 16 and 17, in time.
Attempts to extinguish the fire failed
They then left the apartment complex and called 911. The 60-year-old then tried to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher, but was unsuccessful. The fire brigades of Perg and Pergkirchen were present with a total of 45 men and were able to extinguish the fire around 5 a.m.
