Bizarre incident in Norway: An electric car ended up in the Oslofjord due to an accident. The two occupants freed themselves from the sinking car, climbed onto the roof and called for help – which promptly arrived in the form of a floating sauna.
The scantily clad sauna users pulled the man and woman out of the icy water, according to an eyewitness video (see below).
An eyewitness described the event: “The car was completely submerged before the sauna reached it. They had to swim.” The two were in the cold fjord for several minutes before sauna users rescued them, the witness said: “The woman was screaming. She was very upset.”
The driver stepped on the gas pedal without a care in the world
The Tesla was completely destroyed. According to the police, it initially remained unclear why it ended up in the fjord. The driver told the newspaper ‘Verdens Gang’ that he thought the car was in ‘parking mode’ when he pressed the accelerator. The car was later fished out of the fjord by emergency services.
The driver and his companion were unharmed – and after the incident the two were able to warm up in the sauna, the sauna boat driver told the newspaper.
