Three men were injured, some seriously, in Schwarzach in Salzburg on Saturday morning when two cars collided head-on. Probably one of the drivers crossed into the oncoming lane. The injured were taken to two different hospitals.
A serious accident occurred at the east portal of the Schönberg Tunnel in Schwarzach on Saturday, in which three people were injured. Two cars collided and two of the men involved were seriously injured.
“The accident happened approximately 50 meters outside the tunnel portal,” reports operational manager Josef Machner of the Red Cross. 80 km/h is allowed there. “The drivers were driving that fast.” Probably one of the two ended up on the oncoming vehicle. The police have yet to clarify the precise circumstances of the accident.
A seriously injured person was taken to the shock room of the Schwarzach accident hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second seriously injured person was flown to the accident hospital in Salzburg by emergency helicopter. There were five emergency physicians present. The Red Cross was on site with two paramedics and four paramedics. The B311 was closed around the accident location and a diversion was put in place.
