An eventful day on the Tyrolean slopes also brought an accident on Saturday. A woman was seriously injured in the Zillertal and the person responsible simply drove away.
Around 11 a.m., a 68-year-old local skier was hit by a previously unknown skier on the red-marked slope No. 19 in the Zillertal-Arena ski area, municipality of Rohrberg. As a result, she fell and was seriously injured (thigh fracture).
The second participant did not fall
The second skier involved did not fall and continued his journey without caring for the injured person. The injured skier received initial care from the piste rescue team and, after further emergency medical care, was flown by the emergency helicopter crew to the Schwaz hospital, where she had to be admitted as an inpatient.
Witnesses or persons providing information are requested to contact the Schwaz police station (059133-7250).
