Seven young men and teenagers have now been arrested in Sicily for allegedly being involved in the alleged gang rape of a 13-year-old girl. At least two of them are said to have been directly involved in the crime, while others are said to have detained the girl’s boyfriend.
According to Italian police, the crime took place in the toilet of a public park in the Sicilian city of Catania. According to initial investigations, the 13-year-old and her 17-year-old friend were harassed by the group of seven in the toilet last Tuesday evening. The teenager was then beaten and held down by five of the young men, while the girl was raped by the other two.
Eventually the young people managed to escape. After the incident, police were able to arrest three minors and four young men.
