A serious accident occurred on Thursday evening when a police car was deployed in Vienna-Favoriten. The accident injured several people, some seriously, including a 19-year-old passerby.
On Thursday around 9 p.m., a police car that was on an emergency drive in Vienna-Favoriten left the road for unknown reasons.
In Knöllgasse the patrol car collided with a VW Sharan. The force of the impact threw the emergency vehicle into a tram stop near Davidstrasse.
Four people injured
The Bim stop and a tree were mowed down. Only then did the accident car come to a stop. Several people were injured in the crash, some seriously. According to media reports, one of them is a 19-year-old passerby who was at the stop at the time of the accident.
After medical first aid, he was taken to a hospital shock room by the Vienna professional rescue team with serious injuries to his upper body. The other three victims, all police officers, were also treated at the scene and then taken to surrounding hospitals.
