The workers of the retirement homes in Bizkaia second today a new strike day and have organized protests in three different places; CCOO and UGT for the Diputación, ELA in Plaza Ugasko and LAB in the General Assemblies.
Among the main demands of the strike called for by the trade unions ELA and LAB are: staff increase to workloads and improving working conditions
According to the ELA complaint, “the workers have already spent 515 days without a contract, with unaffordable workloads and in exploitative conditions due to lack of staff due to insufficient proportions to meet the dependency needs of the residents.”
LAB for its part has registered the work stoppage to demand equality with civil servants and more staff.
