What motivates young people, how do they see the world? In his new series ‘We’re not like that!’ author Robert Schneider talks to young people. He recently met Kadir Cem Eksi (19).
Opposite me sits a young man who thinks for a long time about every question I ask him and answers very carefully. Every now and then he turns his head as if he wants to relax for a moment. During the course of the conversation, Kadir explains that the nerves on the side of his neck were injured when he was born. ‘It’s called plexus palsy. It will remain that way for the rest of your life.’ He says it neither reproachfully nor bitterly. “My weaknesses are also my strengths. I can only grow from it.”
