Even experienced traffic officers have not often experienced this: in the style of James Hunt, a 27-year-old Briton thundered along the Tuxer Landesstraße in Finkenberg on Monday. Now he has to drive a taxi.
Officials from PI Mayrhofen carried out speed measurements in the Zillertal around 11:10 am. An unusual speeder came into their sights.
More than twice as fast as allowed
On the Tuxer Landesstraße in Finkenberg, where a maximum speed of 50 km/h is permitted, a car was traveling at a significantly excessive speed. The officers measured an incredible 67mph and immediately pulled the car and driver out of traffic. It turned out that the driver who was prevented from racing was a 27-year-old Briton.
The consequences for the speeding offender: He will soon have to take a taxi or walk because the police confiscated his driver’s license on the spot. There is also a report to the Schwaz district council.
