Horrible accident in Pasching when a 62-year-old charged at him with his gun over a suspected burglar. A shot was fired from his gun, hitting his stepdaughter in the stomach and arm.
This shot literally misfired, hitting a 25-year-old in the area of her left arm and abdomen. The bullet mainly came from her stepfather’s small caliber rifle (62). The 62-year-old just wanted to help; everything points to a tragic accident.
Alleged burglar
And according to the police, it went like this: The 25-year-old from Thalgau in Salzburg – she had just visited her stepfather in Pasching – thought on Monday afternoon that a burglar had broken into the house and informed the 62-year-old about it by telephone. He then grabbed one of his four firearms, a small caliber rifle, from the garage and entered the house. As his stepdaughter walked past him, a shot was fired, hitting the 25-year-old.
Stepfather called rescue
The unfortunate “shooter” immediately put down the weapon, called 911 and began first aid measures. His injured stepdaughter was flown to Kepler University Hospital in Linz by an emergency doctor by rescue helicopter. The 62-year-old is now being investigated for negligent bodily harm.
