Boredom and youthful carelessness can create a dangerous mix. So four St. Veit guys were just driving around Carinthia on Friday evening, until one of them came up with a thoughtless idea.
Whether it is due to a lack of alternatives or perhaps due to finances: four young boys apparently did not know what to do with themselves on Friday evening. “The four 17-year-olds from St. Veit met in a public parking lot around 9:30 p.m. and decided to drive together in two cars through the area without a specific destination,” the police reported. “There were two young people in each car.”
Shot with a softgun pistol
In a parking lot in the town of Hoch-Liebenfels, one of the guys in the back car had his ‘brainstorm’. Using a soft gun pistol, he fired steel balls several times at the rear window of the lead car, causing total damage. The reason? “He wanted to put his friend in the front car,” police said. The owner of the car subsequently reported the matter to the police.
No injuries
Luckily no one got hurt in this stupid thing. Thanks to Austria’s relatively strict gun laws, these guys “only” have access to softgun weapons, and in this case only illegally. It’s impossible to imagine what could have happened differently. The careless shooter is now charged with property damage and his weapon has been confiscated.
