Dog parks in Tyrol – fun without a muzzle or a leash

Date:

More and more Tyroleans are deciding to keep a dog. But the faithful companions need sufficient exercise. They are allowed to romp with their peers on so-called dog pastures – without a leash or muzzle. But “Krone” readers keep coming forward to complain that there aren’t enough dog parks. State capital is particularly affected.

“Give someone a dog and his soul will be healed,” Hildegard von Bingen once said. When it comes to dogs, opinions may differ, but the fact is that many Tyroleans love their four-legged friends and give them a home – and there are more and more of them! It is difficult to determine how many dogs actually live in Tyrol. If you ask the state of Tyrol, there are approximately 8,000 dogs living in the state capital alone. If you ask the city itself, this number suddenly shrinks to 4,500. In 2019, the hundehotel.info team devoted months of meticulous and painstaking research and registered 37,931 registered dogs for Tyrol (the state of Tyrol currently has 47,100).
