The start of the first private mission to the International Space Station has been postponed again. The “Ax-1” mission should now start at the earliest Friday from Cape Canaveral spaceport in the US state of Florida, the company Axiom Space said Sunday.
The start was originally scheduled for Sunday, then was postponed to Wednesday. Reasons for the renewed postponement of the start were not initially given. The flight is being organized by the private space company Axiom in collaboration with the American space agency NASA. The flight will take place in a “Crew Dragon” capsule from Elon Musk’s SpaceX company.
Tickets for 50 million euros
The Axiom crew – the first fully private crew – will stay on the ISS for a week. According to media reports, the members – American entrepreneur Larry Connor, Israeli entrepreneur and pilot Eytan Stibbe and Canadian investor Mark Pathy – each paid about $55 million (about $50 million) for the flight.
The whole will be organized by the private space company Axiom in collaboration with the American space agency NASA, and the flight will take place in a “Crew Dragon” from Elon Musk’s company SpaceX. Former NASA astronaut Michael López-Alegría must bring the trio safely to the ISS.
