A four-year-old was taking a break with her father at the edge of the slopes in Carinthia and was suddenly hit in the back by a ski binding and a ski flying through the air!
In the snow park on Nassfeld, a 14-year-old Czech jumped over a so-called kicker on Wednesday afternoon, but lost his balance and fell. Upon impact, the skis and bindings came loose and flew through the air.
Hit in the back
A four-year-old from the Czech Republic sat with her father at the edge of the slope to relax. Suddenly the girl was hit in the back by the binding and the end of the ski and was injured. The fallen skier and the little girl had no physical contact during the unusual accident.
The slope rescue team rescued the girl and the ARA3 emergency helicopter team flew her to the ELKI in Klagenfurt.
Collision after a skiing accident
Early Wednesday afternoon, a young female skier and a 61-year-old from the Leibnitz district collided on the Gamskogel piste in the Aineck-Katschberg ski area. Both fell and the man was injured in the upper arm. He asked the young skier to call the emergency services and leave her details.
The lift attendant warned the slope rescuers, the skier did not provide her details and continued skiing.
A helicopter also took a skier to hospital in East Tyrol
A Slovenian (48) fell on largely snow-free terrain while skiing in the Hochpustertal area in Sillian. He crashed into a tree. The injured man was flown to hospital.
