Despite the avalanche danger and bad weather, ski tourers continue to venture into the open terrain. It is not uncommon for these ill-advised excursions to end tragically and even fatally. Editor Elisa Aschbacher dares to take a ski trip off the slopes and gets tips from experts.
Dressed warmly, I go into the mountains. In winter I do my favorite activity: ski touring. But this time it will be different than usual. Because it’s my first time going outside. The Glorer Hut (2641m) in Kals am Großglockner in East Tyrol.
