A 42-year-old Austrian who has been working as a DJ in Thailand for years has become the victim of a bloody crime. His body was found on Thursday on Ko Pha Ngan island next to a narrow road, not far from his accommodation. A 37-year-old suspect confessed to the police that he had killed the Austrian.
As the newspaper ‘The Nation’ reports, an argument between the two allegedly took place on the sidelines of a party at the dead man’s house. Several eyewitnesses told the police this.
An argument at a party escalated into the street
The suspect, a Moroccan citizen, is said to have confirmed this version. Police Colonel Sirichai Suksart, deputy chief of Surat Thani police, told The Nation that the 37-year-old wanted to leave the party but the host did not allow him to do so. “That’s when the fight started,” Thani said.
This then continued in front of the house. As a result, a scuffle broke out in which the two opponents injured each other. At one point, the Moroccan grabbed a metal object and hit the Austrian several times – until he stopped moving.
