On the night from Friday to Saturday, dramatic scenes took place in a community street in the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district. A 27-year-old driver, who was heavily intoxicated, drove his vehicle off the road around 3:15 a.m. and fell into a stream. The passenger and driver were injured.
In the early hours of February 24, a serious accident occurred in Prätis in the municipality of Pöllau, in which two people were injured. A 27-year-old driver from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district lost control of his vehicle and left the road. He went through the bridge railing, hit a tree, fell over and fell into a stream bed. The car came to a stop on its roof.
The driver and his 28-year-old passenger managed to free themselves from the wreckage. The emergency doctor from the fire brigade and the ambulance personnel from the Pöllau volunteer fire brigade, together with the Red Cross, provided first aid to the two occupants. They were then taken to LKH Hartberg with injuries of an undetermined nature.
The breath test showed that the driver was heavily intoxicated. The vehicle had to be rescued with the help of the fire brigade crane. After the accident site was cleared, a temporary bridge railing was installed.
