A 42-year-old has reportedly been stalked by her ex-partner for weeks. When he ambushed her again Saturday evening and tried to reach her from her balcony, the frightened woman called 911.
A 42-year-old is said to have been chased by her ex-partner in Vienna for weeks. On Saturday evening, the 53-year-old climbed over a fence into a garden in Floridsdorf to reach the woman’s balcony. But he was discovered and held by friends of the 42-year-old until police arrived, police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger said on Sunday.
Ambushed and chased
“The 53-year-old is suspected of ambushing the victim every day for more than three weeks and continuously chasing him,” the spokesperson said. The Austrian national was banned from entering and approaching the building and was released after consultation with the Vienna public prosecutor’s office.
Further action: man became violent
An operation in an apartment in Brigittenau also ended with an entry and approach ban, but the suspect (54) was in custody on Sunday. The police were called because of an argument. It subsequently emerged that the man threatened his partner and was allegedly violent towards her. The Romanian, who was heavily drunk, also wanted to attack the officers, leading him to be accused of trying to resist state authority.
