One person has died in a fire at an asylum accommodation in Nördlingen, Bavaria. The fire has now been extinguished. This may have been started by a child.
No details were known about the fatal accident. Three other residents suffered minor to serious injuries in the fire.
The building was so badly damaged by the fire that it had to be demolished, a police spokesperson told Zeit.
The residents would initially be housed in a hall. The district office is trying to find alternative housing.
The cause of the fire remains unclear and is the subject of an ongoing investigation. It is possible that a child in the accommodation turned on a light and started the fire.
