A couple’s walk on Sunday in Frastanz (Vorarlberg) ended badly: first the man tripped and injured himself. When the woman tried to get help, she fell into the bottom of the Samina stream. The result was a search using a helicopter.
A 38-year-old man and his girlfriend of the same age left Frastanz Amerlügen for Frastafeders on Sunday afternoon around 4 p.m. They were really unlucky: during the walk the 38-year-old fell and was injured. His girlfriend left the scene of the accident to get help.
Along the way, the woman herself probably fell and fell into the streambed of the Samina. She remained there injured. Five hours later, at 9 p.m., the injured man finally reached his home address. From there he was eventually taken to hospital by ambulance.
Restored at midnight
Because the hiker’s girlfriend was still missing, a search was started. The injured woman was eventually found at midnight, lying in the riverbed. She was flown to hospital by helicopter ‘Christoph Liechtenstein’.
