Sad news from the clinic in Innsbruck! The 55-year-old Swede, who crashed his skis into two other winter sports enthusiasts in front of his daughter last Tuesday in the Tyrol Sölden, has now died from his serious injuries.
On Tuesday morning, the 55-year-old rode with his daughter on a red piste on the Tiefenbachferner in Sölden, on the right side of the piste with short bends into the valley. During this ride he wanted to avoid a 34-year-old German and a 35-year-old German who were standing on the right side of the track.
Lost skis were fatal
One of the Swede’s skis came loose, causing him to fall and collide with the two Germans. The 34-year-old and the 35-year-old were slightly injured in this accident and received first aid from the snow rescue team.
The Swede suffered serious injuries and was flown by rescue helicopter to the Innsbruck clinic in a critical condition after receiving first aid. Now the man there has died.
