CPR worked – ex-police officer saved tennis opponent’s life

Tensions ran high in the tennis hall, where an ex-police officer (69) had a heated match with his playing partner (76). When the eldest suddenly collapsed, the retired officer responded immediately and immediately began CPR. Thanks to the quick intervention, the playing partner survived!

On Monday morning the tennis balls whizzed through the hall in Schwanenstadt. A 69-year-old former police officer from Oberndorf near Schwanenstadt fought a heated duel with his 76-year-old opponent. Suddenly, without any warning, the older man collapsed and showed no signs of life.

Remembered during training
The former uniformed officer immediately remembered what he had learned during numerous first aid courses and immediately began CPR. A pensioner who was also present quickly brought a defibrillator and started the rescue chain.

Defi brought the heartbeat back
After the retired police officer used the defibrillator several times, the 76-year-old finally showed signs of life again. Thanks to the successful cooperation of the two smart pensioners, his life was saved. The tennis partner was flown to a hospital by emergency helicopter.
