Passengers injured – 19-year-old drunkenly drove his car into a barn

A 19-year-old from Grieskirchen (Upper Austria) drove unrestrained into a shed on Sunday evening. Reason: The young driver – he was drunk – looked over an intersection. A 22-year-old and a 24-year-old, also from Grieskirchen, were in the car with him.

The three young men from Grieskirchen drove along the Eisenbirnerstrasse from Diersbach towards Kalling on Sunday evening. Inattention caused the accident in Diersbach. According to the police, the 19-year-old driver overlooked the intersection with Eferdinger Straße.

As a result, the car with the three occupants crashed into a shed without braking. The driver of the car was uninjured, his two passengers were slightly injured. However, they refused first aid from the rescue team.

The car itself was a total loss and the shed suffered heavy damage. The 19-year-old driver’s inattention could have had a liquid cause: an alcohol test was positive; the man from Grieskirchen had a blood alcohol level of 1.08.
