An Oberlander with a criminal record posed as a ‘boy’ in the chat and demanded sex and intimate photos. He was accused of abuse and had to appear before the Feldkirch Regional Court on Monday.
The cognitive capabilities of the 21-year-old suspect are limited, but the man, who has been convicted several times, apparently knows exactly how to approach underage girls online and sexually abuse them later. The current victim is a twelve-year-old student.
In early September 2020, the benefit recipient, posing as a ‘boy’ online, started chatting with the girl. People exchange ideas. The minor also states her age. A direct hit for the suspect. Finally, he asks the twelve-year-old to send him a photo of her masturbating. The girl refuses.
After the ‘boy’ continues to harass her, the student gives in and sends him an intimate photo. She rejects his suggestion to meet her for sex, but sends another intimate photo.
Suspect pleads partially guilty
The case remains unnoticed for a long time. It was only during an investigation into another case that the officers came across the suspect in the girl’s chat history. In Monday’s trial, the Oberlander initially feigned ignorance but then admitted partial guilt because the messages were found on his cell phone. “But I have no idea who wrote it. At least not me,” he says.
Ultimately, public prosecutor Johannes Hartmann sees this as a purely protective claim. “Even if three or four years have passed, you can still remember the chat history in this way. If it wasn’t him, he can clearly say: no, I’m not talking to a twelve year old!
The non-final verdict: 15 months in prison. In addition, there are still seven months after a previous prison sentence that was originally conditional. A total of 22 months behind Swedish curtains.
