Tyrol’s emergency services were under considerable pressure on Thursday. The helicopters had to make three trips to the Stubai Glacier. In Sölden in the Ötztal, boarding the elevator worked differently than planned. And in Pill (Schwaz district) a ski trip ended with a fall into a depression.
Emergency services were called three times in the Stubai Glacier ski area. Around 10 a.m. a German woman (36) was snowboarding on the blue slope “Fernauferner”. “She fell of her own accord into the bottom third of the slope and seriously injured her shoulder,” police said. The emergency doctor ‘Alpin 2’ took her to Hall Hospital.
Shortly before noon, two Germans (both 19 years old) on alpine skis collided with each other on the red slope “Pfafenschneid”, just before a piste intersection. One was unharmed, the other suffered serious pelvic injuries. He was also taken to Hall Hospital by the emergency physician of the “Alpin 5”.
Around 1.20 pm a boy (7) from the Czech Republic skied into the fun park “Big Family Fun Slope”. “He fell on his own while jumping over a hill.” The child suffered injuries to his left thigh. It was taken to the Innsbruck clinic by the emergency doctor “Alpin 2”.

The fourth accident happened around 12:15 p.m. A Swiss woman (58) wanted to use the ‘Gratl’ chairlift in the Sölden ski area together with her husband. “The woman became stuck in the entrance and fell to the ground on her right side.” The ally landed her right arm on a wooden plank. She suffered serious injuries to her wrist. The slope rescue team took them to the valley.

The fifth accident finally occurred around 1:40 p.m. From Pill, a Tyrolean (63) went on a ski trip with his wife to “Sonntagsköpfl”. The accident occurred during the descent from the summit towards “Loassattel”. “At an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level, the man looked out over the Marschentalbach and fell into a depression.” The 63-year-old suffered serious injuries to his lower leg. The tourer was rescued by the emergency medical helicopter “Martin 7” and flown to Schwaz hospital.
