A driver drove into a crowd in Szczecin, Poland, injuring at least 17 people.
According to provincial Governor Adam Rudawski, the driver struck a group of pedestrians crossing a street at an intersection in the city center on Friday. Two of the injured were therefore in mortal danger. The police rule out a terrorist background.
According to the governor, the driver initially fled but was arrested shortly afterwards. “It is not an act of terror,” said police spokesman Pawel Pankau. The arrested driver was a 33-year-old Pole. While fleeing, the man rammed three cars, injuring the drivers.
