A missing local hiker was found dead in Dorfgastein today, Friday. The 75-year-old had not returned home from a walk he had taken the previous day.
The Gasteiner left home around lunchtime on Thursday. Early on Friday his wife called the police in Bad Hofgastein because her husband did not come home from the walk.
The man was found a short time later by the emergency services next to a goods road. The doctor could only confirm that the man was dead. The prosecutor has ordered an autopsy.
In addition to the mountain rescue team, the Dorfgastein fire brigade was also involved in the search.
