A dispute between three young men escalated in Altmünster on Saturday morning. A 19-year-old from Gmunden allegedly attacked his two opponents with a knife during the argument. He stabbed a 21-year-old twice in the shoulder and the seriously injured man required hospital surgery. A 20-year-old was also injured.
The crime happened around 1:55 am on Saturday in the idyllic Traunsee community of Altmünster. The conflict between the three young boys suddenly got completely out of hand. The 19-year-old from Gmunden allegedly went crazy during the argument and pulled out a knife.
He then allegedly attacked 21-year-old Regauer and stabbed him twice. The victim suffered two gaping wounds to the left shoulder.
Wound of 25 centimeters
The 19-year-old is also said to have attacked the second opponent, a 20-year-old from Kirchham near Vorchdorf. He suffered an approximately 25 centimeter long gash in his stomach area. The attacker then fled the scene but was arrested by police after about two hours.
Both victims had to be taken to hospital. The Regauer underwent emergency surgery that night; he could not be questioned for the time being.
The exact background of the bloody dispute is still the subject of police investigation, but the crime could have something to do with narcotics.
