A fatal accident has shocked the residents of an apartment complex in Linz since Saturday. A six-year-old boy fell from the fourth floor onto a sidewalk – apparently unnoticed by the family. Despite prompt medical attention, the child’s life could not be saved.
The gruesome tragedy took place on Saturday afternoon in front of the multi-storey residential building on Industriezeile in Linz. A six-year-old boy was found motionless on the sidewalk by a woman around 4:30 p.m.
At the time, a window on the fourth floor of the building was open. It was therefore reasonable to assume that the child had fallen into the depths from there. At that point it apparently stopped showing signs of life.
Attempts at resuscitation failed
The emergency physician and police were immediately alerted and the little patient was transported to MedCampus IV of Kepler University Hospital with intensive resuscitation efforts.
Unfortunately, the medical teams there were unable to save the boy’s life. It is likely that he died as a result of major polytrauma caused by the fall.
It was initially unclear how the accident could have happened. The seriously shocked family members had to receive psychological care.
