It was initially a bit of a puzzle for witnesses and emergency services when they found a motionless person in the middle of Kufstein on Monday evening. The investigations soon showed that an accident was probably the cause.
Around 12:25 a.m., a police patrol was sent to Kufsteiner Marktgasse because a motionless person was lying on the ground there. When the patrol arrived, several passers-by were already providing first aid and the person who had had the accident was unresponsive.
Transfer to the Innsbruck Clinic
The police officers took over the first aid measures and a short time later the rescuers arrived on the scene. The person, a 43-year-old man, had a profusely bleeding head wound and was first taken to the Kufstein Hospital and then to the Innsbruck Clinic.
Accident reconstructed
Based on the investigations and interviews conducted so far, it can be assumed, based on current knowledge, that the 43-year-old rode a bicycle without a helmet, crashed into a street lamp, fell and suffered serious head injuries. The man has not yet been able to be questioned about the circumstances of the accident.
