Ukraine says it has destroyed a Russian Navy patrol boat in the Black Sea. The ship had been hit before, but was only destroyed by the attack on Tuesday night. There were deaths and injuries among the crew.
According to the spokesperson of the Ukrainian military intelligence service HUR, Andriy Yusov, it is “likely that some crew members could be evacuated”. The Russian Defense Ministry initially made no comment on the incident, but the sinking was unofficially confirmed in Moscow. The pro-Russian military blog Belorusski Silowik wrote that the ship had been destroyed. The influential blog Rybar, which is close to the Moscow Defense Ministry, also spread the message.

Surface drones in the Kerch Strait
HUR previously said Magura V5 surface drones struck the ship Sergei Kotov near the Kerch Strait, causing “durable damage to the stern, starboard and port sides.” The strategically important waterway between the Crimean Peninsula, which was annexed by Russia in 2014, and the southern Russian Taman Peninsula has become a key battlefield in the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has now lasted more than two years.
