A fatal accident occurred in Montafon, Vorarlberg on Sunday. A 68-year-old man was doing woodwork when he slipped in a steep forest and fell 40 meters. All help came too late for the man.
The 68-year-old resident was working alone in a forest in the Montafon community of Gaschurn on Sunday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., doing woodwork on very steep terrain. The police assume that the man fell in the forest, located in the Ausserböfa district, while using a so-called “hand sappie” to loosen a three-meter-long tree trunk.
