A young man from Burgenland collapsed lifeless in Horitschon. Emergency doctors fought for the man’s life at the scene. The patient was successfully resuscitated and flown to the hospital in Wiener Neustadt. But the flight there did not go as planned.
Suddenly the man’s heart stopped beating and he collapsed. Witnesses immediately notified emergency services. Due to the serious situation, the control center sent the emergency vehicle from Oberpullendorf and the ÖAMTC emergency helicopter “Christophorus 33” stationed in Wiener Neustadt.
Resuscitated twice
The rescue teams joined forces to resuscitate the 35-year-old. “Our team started with the patient on board in the direction of Wiener Neustadt,” confirms a ÖAMTC spokesperson for the dramatic operation. But during the flight to the hospital, the man from Burgenland suffered another cardiac arrest. “Christophorus 33” landed immediately.
The emergency doctor and ambulance personnel again resuscitated the young man and, according to “Krone” information, also used a defibrillator. Shortly afterwards, the patient’s heart was beating again and the ambulance helicopter continued its flight to the hospital. There, the doctors are now fighting for the 35-year-old’s life. His condition was critical but stable.
