A violent explosion shook the center of Hartkirchen on Wednesday afternoon. A boiler may have exploded in a large bakery. There was a large hole in the roof of the building. Six fire brigades were called to the scene. Apparently no one was injured in the incident.
According to the first information, the first fire brigade was called around noon due to a suspected fire. During maintenance work, an oil leak and small explosions occurred in the area surrounding the boiler.
The oil supply was then stopped and the boiler cooled sufficiently to give the all-clear for the time being. But when the fire brigade had already left, flames were reportedly noticed again.
The emergency services were informed again. While the fire brigade was already arriving again, there was said to be such a violent explosion that a hole was punched in the roof of the production hall. Some of the debris flew 50 meters. Damage was also caused to adjacent buildings.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the explosion. The fire brigade has cordoned off part of the area for safety reasons, because there is an identical second boiler in the building. The statics of the hall also had to be checked. The operation is currently still in full swing.
