There was an apartment fire in Munich on Tuesday evening. But before firefighters could extinguish the blaze, they first had to deal with panicking cats. It rained bites and scratches for the Florianis.
The starting point of the operation was light smoke coming from a second-floor apartment where several cats were present. The reason was the burning of craft materials found in a room.
Three firefighters attacked
After the material had been extinguished, emergency services brought out a total of seven cats. However, one of the animals fled into the stairwell in panic. A firefighter standing there wanted to prevent the escape and grabbed the cat. However, it bit the man’s thumb. The incident commander came to help and was bitten on the hand. A third colleague intervened and suffered several scratches.
The tenant who had now arrived eventually took the cat away from them. After releasing the air, the woman was able to return to the apartment with her seven cats. The three injured emergency services received medical care and were able to continue their duties.
