Climbing is apparently in fashion at the moment! Once again, firefighters in Upper Austria had to go to a child stuck in a tree. On Wednesday, a child got stuck in a split in a park in the town of Wels. The emergency services freed the boy; fortunately, he was unharmed in the incident.
Hopefully this will not become a mass phenomenon: once again a child stuck in a tree had to be freed by the fire brigade.
After – as reported – on Tuesday afternoon in Pasching a nine-year-old boy was helplessly trapped with his knee against a three-meter high willow tree, a similar operation took place in Wels on Wednesday.
In Robert Koch Park, a child also got his leg stuck in a fork of a branch. The boy could no longer pull it out himself. The firefighters who were called for help were eventually able to free him from his precarious position at a height of 1.5 meters.
Saw in use
First the child was stabilized and then a branch was removed with a saw. The boy’s relief after his liberation was great. He was transferred to the Red Cross for further care, but suffered only a few abrasions during his adventure.
